South Regional TAFE’s Esperance campus delivers training to skill the community for local industries and services supporting the town’s infrastructure.

Esperance, which roughly translated, is French for 'hope', sees tourism, agriculture and fishing steer the economy of this stunning coastal community. 

Esperance, located 720 kilometres south east of Perth, boasts picture perfect coastal scenery with squeaky white sand and turquoise water.

The campus will move to a new, purpose-built facility on the corner of Connolly Street and Pink Lake Road in mid-2021.

The South Regional TAFE Library and Information Services manage access to training resources across the region to assist you meet your academic goals.

Library services are available to all current South Regional TAFE students and staff. Although the library’s main collections are based at the Bunbury and Albany campuses, all enrolled students and staff members of South Regional TAFE are eligible to request any of the resources from the online catalogue, regardless of location. This qualification reflects the role of instructors who perform a range of activities and functions within the fitness industry. Depending on the specialisation chosen, this qualification provides a pathway to work as an instructor providing exercise instruction for group, aqua or gym programs. They work independently with some level of autonomy in a controlled environment such as fitness, leisure, aquatic and community centres where risks are managed through pre-existing risk assessment and hazard control processes. Individuals who specialise in Aqua Exercise Instruction deliver water-based exercise sessions designed for participation by a group of clients. Sessions may be freestyle, pre-choreographed or circuit style. They also have the skills to rescue a client in distress, and an appropriate level of pool deck fitness and endurance. Individuals who specialise in Group Exercise Instruction deliver exercise sessions designed for participation by a group of clients with a mix of ages/fitness levels. Sessions may be freestyle, pre-choreographed or circuit style. These individuals instruct and demonstrate complete exercise sessions to groups with limited individual interaction. Individuals who specialise in Gym Instruction provide individually tailored client assessments, provide technique correction as needed, and develop and demonstrate programs. They also provide supervision of a facility or service, keep equipment clean, tidy and well maintained, and handle various customer inquiries.

You’ll learn how to design and produce business documents and publications, digitally design and develop text-based documents, develop spreadsheets through the use of both cloud-based and noncloud based applications, identify financial requirements of a business including profit targets, cash flow projections and strategies to gather financial support, and understand workplace health and safety (WHS) legislation and its application to safe work practices. It even covers how to create and build a social networking presence using social media tools and applications.
